about

"Nippersink Creek" was recorded on June 21st, taken near the aforementioned Nippersink Creek, which is a tributary of the Fox River and intersects the Prairie Trail in northern Illinois not far from my home. The recordings are from four different perspectives:

- On the Prairie Trail near Mill St. where the sounds of the creek are just becoming audible
- About six feet above the creek on top of a retaining wall
- Facing west towards a retention pond with the creek flowing behind
- At the shore

These recordings have been interwoven and sequenced in such a way to create a sense of movement. Synthesized pad sounds have been extracted from the recordings with a resonator bank. Lastly, piano & glockenspiel as instrumental accompaniment.
